Adam Yauch died this weekend. Naturally, when I heard the news I went to the radio, hoping to hear some Beastie Boys songs to cry to or something. I found only the KCRW version of the Beastie Boys- the version where Adam Yauch was never MCA; where he was always a Buddhist; where he was just the bass player on “The In Sound From Way Out”; and where he never made records when you “was sucking your mother’s dick.” This is the mix I wanted to hear. Rest in peace.
